We test our adult Corgis, it is not necessary for each puppy to be tested for DM, vwd1, eic , ect. If a puppy has a "Clear" parent the puppy will be "Clear" or "Carrier", not "At Risk". We do our best to only produce "clear" or "carrier" puppies.

Clear - This finding indicates that the gene is not present in your dog. Therefore, when used for breeding, a Clear dog will not pass on the disease gene.
Carrier - This finding indicates that one copy of the disease gene is present in your dog, but that it will not exhibit disease symptoms. Carriers will not have medical problems as a result. Dogs with Carrier status can be enjoyed without the fear of developing medical problems but will pass on the disease gene 50% of the time.
At Risk - This finding indicates that two copies of the disease gene are present in the dog. The dog could be medically affected by the disease.

No. The only coat colors for Pembroke Welsh Corgis are red, sable, and tricolor with white markings. Pembroke do not come in bridle or merle. Some breeders are now breeding American Corgis and Cowboy Corgis that come in merle. These are not purebred Corgis and are NOT recognized by the AKC.
